How To Enjoy The Weekend Without Spending A Cent

Hi everyone, I’m back, with a post that I think you will enjoy…

It sucks when it gets around to the weekend and all you want to do is enjoy it but either having no money or trying to save it. This post is all about having a killer weekend without spending a cent. When I say without spending ANY money I mean these are all completely free!

Beach

This is a pretty obvious one to start off with but hey it’s a favourite! Especially now that it is offical Summer, well here in Australia anyway. Get together with your friends and family and spend your day, weekend or entire holidays here. Soak up the sunshine. It is the perfect place to just relax and enjoy!

Waterfalls

Waterfalls are becoming pretty popular. I mean have you watch all of the hidden waterfalls in Bali videos on Youtube? They look incredible. But if you can’t fly to Bali to find them see if there are any around your area. Let me know which ones you find! My tip would be to pack a picnic, bring some blow up floaties and just hang out at a waterfall for the day with your friends.

Markets

Markets are always a great thing to do. I know this isn’t exactly free, you might find something you like and buy it. But visiting markets are free. Just spend the morning strolling around and having a look. Plus they are usually selling some really nice food! Mini pancakes with Nutella are a fave of mine…. There are literally so many and can be found all over the place. Some of my favourites here in Brisbane are…

The Suitcase Rummage, it is a perfect place to find a great bargain. Heaps of people get together and sell clothes, accessories, comic books and heaps more. Whatever they can fit in a suitcase they can sell. I went to one a few months ago and picked up about 6 different clothing items that was under $20 altogether (read my post about it), so amazing! Its become so popular.  It can be found in almost every state in Australia. Definitely something to check out.

Eumundi Markets are located on the Sunshine Coast. Open every Wednesday and Saturday from 8am-1:30pm. Make sure you find time to see this place. It is huge! And probably my favourite one! Selling fashion, jewellery, homewares, furniture, fresh produce just to name a few. It is pretty much a must if you are visiting the Sunshine Coast.

Climb a Mountain

This one is for all of the adventurous people out there. If that is you and you haven’t climbed a mountain yet, what are you doing? I think the best time to climb is at sunrise. It is normally the quietest time of the day so hardly any other people around. It is also super pretty getting to the top and watching the sunrise. My favourite is Mt Coolum, located on the Sunshine Coast.

If you ever get stuck on what to do on the weekend I hope this helps! Let me know your favourite one or what you like to do on the weekend when you’re trying save! Also check out my post on ‘how to get ready for the ultimate road trip’ for another idea to spend your weekend.
